Pursuant to Elections Code 10225 if nomination papers for an incumbent officer of the city are not filed by or on the 88th day before the election, during normal business hours, as posted, the voters shall have until the 83rd day before the election during normal business hours, as posted, to nominate candidates other than the person who was the incumbent on the 88th day, for that incumbent’s elective office.
The Nomination Period to file for the November 2, 2010 election has been extended to Wednesday, August 11, 2010 at 5 p.m. The extension is granted for non-incumbents only.
The Town has 3 seats open for the November 2, 2010 election.
As of Friday, August 6, 2010 at 5:00 p.m. the following candidates have filed nomination papers and have been officially verified by the County.
● Bill Widmer
● Jim Dobbie
● Jerry Carlson
Additionally three more Atherton residents have obtained the necessary elections forms but have not yet officially filed:
Mike McPherson
Phil Lively
Cary Weist
Rose Hau
